Kenyans are furious at CNN for calling Kenya ‘terror hotbed’ ahead of Obama visit

On the eve of President Obama’s trip to Kenya on Thursday, CNN aired a report in which it called Kenya a “region that’s a hotbed of terror.”

That reference angered many Kenyans on social media who took to Twitter to express their frustration about the network’s reporting on Kenya.

“Al-Shabaab militants in East Africa are now posing new worries for the President’s trip to Kenya this week,” CNN reported. “President Barack Obama is not just heading to his father’s homeland, but to a region that’s a hotbed of terror.”

The report has sparked ridicule on Twitter, with Kenyans on Twitter using the hashtag #SomeoneTellCNN to criticize CNN and voice their concerns.
